About Me

I am the Associate Director at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Oakland University in Michigan. While many higher education professionals boldly set out academic paths that take them across the United States and world, I am proud to have built a career near my roots in metro Detroit. Online teaching and networks have been key to expanding my world, perspective, and influences, which led me to research online teaching and social learning online.

Learning leads me to the tech that makes it possible. My current curiosity is how we can embrace mobile-mindful learning so that we can teach and learn with our devices rather than in spite of them. For all of the distractions and mindless scrolling, if we combine our pedagogical powers to use mobile tech’s virtues, we can greatly increase student access to learning.

I am a mother, educator, writer, and sci-fi reader. Contact me at christinamoorephd@gmail.com
